Ras Sudr-The location:

Ras Sudr is an Egyptian city on the Gulf of Suez in the best spot in South Sinai. It is considered to be the first city you pass by in South Sinai on your way from Cairo. The touristic city of Ras Sudr stretches for 95 km on the Eastern coast of the Gulf of Suez. Ras Sudr was divided into a number of touristic centers including Ras Al Masala center, Geno center, Oyoun Moussa, Ras Dehessa, Ras Matarma, Al Nakheel and Ras Malaab.

The trip from Cairo (Al Rehab City) to Ras Sudr takes only one and a half hour through Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel that is located 130 km away from Cairo. That’s why Ras Sudr is considered one of the closest destinations in South Sinai to Cairo. This makes it one of the most convenient touristic places in Egypt for one day trips.

Ras Sudr is considered one of the most important touristic destinations in Sinai. That is due to the fact that it is still virgin in terms of its undiscovered treasures & touristic potential. The natural beauty of Ras Sudr is quite diverse; including desert, mountains, valleys, beaches and springs. All of these are key touristic aspects that qualify Ras Sudr to gain a unique position in entertainment, beach, deserts, valleys, mountains, educational and environmental tourism, thanks to its richest collection of desert plants and herbs. Moreover, Ras Sudr has the richest variety of beautiful marine life especially corals and rare fish, as well as its huge capabilities in medical tourism through Al Oyoun Al Kabreeteya in Hamamat Pheroon, Oyoun Moussa and Oyoun Taraki areas. The area is also distinguished by a number of beaches and natural gulfs that stretch throughout the whole beach, thus giving each area a unique flavor. The beaches are also quite diverse in terms of the different types and elevations of sand beaches.

What’s in Ras Sudr?

• Ras Sudr is quite distinguished by the abundance of springs and wells especially Oyoun Moussa area; which are a number of Kabreeteya springs containing water with an average temperature of 35 and 40 degrees. This area, being one of the most famous places in Ras Sudr, can be best used for touristic resorts and medical resorts since it attracts a large number of Egyptian and foreign visitors. In addition, it also has a religious status as it is the place where Moses (Peace be upon him) crossed the sea in his escape from the Pharaoh and his soldiers and turned into 12 springs as a sign of God’s miracles.

• Hamamat Pheroon is one of the most famous places in Ras Sudr and is located in the South area of the city. It consists of 2 sections; the Pharaoh’s cave, which extends 25 meters deep into the mountain and the natural springs which are Kabreeteya springs on the beach with water’s temperatures reaching up to 75 degrees with healing features for the bones and skin.

• Finally, El Gharandal valley, which is considered one of the most beautiful valleys in the South Sinai area, which has lots of oasis, wild birds and desert animals. It is also characterized by the lush plants and pure water from natural springs that stretch throughout the whole valley all year round.

• It is expected that tourists will flood to Ras Sudr after the opening of the new airport (in the feasibility phase) which will make the trip to Ras Sudr from Cairo only half an hour.

Ras Sudr’s weather is wonderful, where everyone can enjoy moderate temperatures all year long making it the perfect destination in summer and winter. It is also characterized by low humidity as its weather is uniquely dry unlike the North Coast.
